The premiere of Glenn Danzig's 'Grub Girl'
Story and Photos By: Lexa Vonn

Hollywood isn’t exactly the kind of city young lovers imagine when they daydream about their perfect Valentine’s Day, nonetheless I felt the need to celebrate it in my own unique “Plastics” way. I didn’t have a suitor when Feb.14th rolled around, well not in the traditional sense anyway. What I did have was a date with Glenn Danzig and two female porn stars. That’s right, I spent Valentine’s Day photographing the meet and greet party at Tower Records for the release of the adult DVD, “Grub Girl”.
“Grub Girl” stars adult film star, Brittney Skye and is directed by Craven Moorehead. This porn flick combines sex and gore and follows the adventures of a living dead girl (Skye) who fucks, eats people, and takes revenge on her former pimp. The story line was lifted from the comic series by Edward Lee, “Zombie Hooker,” which has been released by Glenn Danzig’s production company, Verotik. The film also stars such lovelies as GiGi, Teanna Kai, Eva Angelina and Charmaine Star.
Both Brittney Skye and Eva Angelina were on hand that evening at the release party as well as Danzig and Moorehead. Fans were allowed to come in and get autographs after I finished the publicity shots. Afterwards, I headed to The Whisky where the bands that provided the soundtrack for the movie were showcasing. Included in the film score were tracks from such Hollywood local faves as Skumlove, The Shift, and Dead Girl’s Corp; along with a previously unreleased track by Danzig.
I spent most of the night doing shots backstage with the porn people but did manage to catch some of Dead Girl Corp.’s set. Although the crowd was small, this band still managed to attract the attention of some of the rock scene’s A-list. And on a holiday, no doubt! Among the audience were fetish cover girl, S1N F1ST3D, Stanton and Szandora LaVey, Pogo from Marilyn Manson, and of course the most important of them all… ME!! It’s not so easy to get a Plastic to come to your shows these days. But that’s another story.
